Here is a before and after of an overgrown tree and bushes. Notice all of the sucker branches coming from the base of the tree and the branches laying on the roof and fascia. If this would have been left, it could cause issues to the shingles, guttering, and fascia. The bushes were pushed down so they were all the same size. Do not worry about that knock out rose getting cut back. It needed shaped and this will actually increase the blooms this spring.
