I wrote this as the day unfolded on September 11, 2001.<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n

<\/div>\n

Our Country Tis of Thee<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
The Greatest Nation to Ever Be<\/span><\/b><\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
With no warning of this raid.<\/span><\/div>\n
Down goes two great towers of trade.<\/span><\/div>\n
With smoke filling in the sky.<\/span><\/div>\n
All people know to do is cry.<\/span><\/div>\n
As planes are directed to land.<\/span><\/div>\n
We ask, \u201cWhere is God\u2019s hand?\u201d<\/span><\/div>\n
People are now really feeling the scare.<\/span><\/div>\n
With planes unaccounted for in the air.<\/span><\/div>\n
The fear of war,<\/span><\/div>\n
Is from shore to shore.<\/span><\/div>\n
As we watched with fright.<\/span><\/div>\n
Now is the time to be humble and contrite.<\/span><\/div>\n
Has our Christian ways been left in the past?<\/span><\/div>\n
Is this why our flags are now at half mast?<\/span><\/div>\n
We are the home of the brave,<\/span><\/div>\n
But is it money or God we crave?<\/span><\/div>\n
How our nation is in an uproar, <\/span><\/div>\n
Is the problem we\u2019re rotten to the core?<\/span><\/div>\n
In schools we\u2019ve taken prayer out,<\/span><\/div>\n
Now in the halls drugs roam about.<\/span><\/div>\n
Now our freedoms we have to fight in court,<\/span><\/div>\n
Like the Ten Commandment plaques they want to abort.<\/span><\/div>\n
What about the people on meth?<\/span><\/div>\n
Or what about a doctor taking a baby\u2019s last breathe?<\/span><\/div>\n
\u00a0Through this there is only one place to be,<\/span><\/div>\n
With a broken spirit and down on one knee.<\/span><\/div>\n
As our revenge will be quick and just, <\/span><\/div>\n
We are now realizing only in God we can trust.<\/span><\/div>\n
With our power we like to boast,<\/span><\/div>\n
But we really need is the Lord of Host.<\/span><\/div>\n
We know what the Bible has to say,<\/span><\/div>\n
We need to humble ourselves and pray.<\/span><\/div>\n
Cling close to God with all your might.<\/span><\/div>\n
Then once again we\u2019ll be a beacon of light.<\/span><\/div>\n
God help us to seek your face,<\/span><\/div>\n
And don\u2019t hold back your amazing grace.<\/span><\/div>\n
This country was built with you as the Corner Stone,<\/span><\/div>\n
Help us to follow you alone.<\/span><\/div>\n
As \u201cOld Glory\u201d flies high,<\/span><\/div>\n
Remember the men and women who had to die.<\/span><\/div>\n
To make this the land of the free,<\/span><\/div>\n
There\u2019s not another country in the world I\u2019d rather be.<\/span><\/div>\n
